Project Architect

JOB DESCRIPTION

This position provides the opportunity to work with a small group of committed professionals, to manage your own projects, to design for enthusiastic homeowners, and to develop an expertise in residential design. The Project Architect will work with a new, enthusiastic, growing firm that takes a fresh approach to architectural services. Our energetic firm enjoys the challenge of taking something good and making it exceptional for our clients. Surpassing our client's expectations is our first priority.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Meet with potential clients and sell Renovation Design services.
  • Assist the client from the initial sales meeting to completion of construction.
  • Develop comprehensive design options for the client.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Prepare construction/permit drawings.
  • Prepare project budget estimates.
  • Conduct construction observation.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • M.Arch. from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 2 years full-time employment in an architectural firm functioning as a project architect/manager responsible for:
    1. Construction documents—drawings and specifications
    2. Construction administration
    3. Construction budget estimates
    4. Consultant coordination
    5. Client management
  • Proficient in AutoCAD - version 2004 preferred
  • Experienced in Word, and Excel

COMPENSATION

From $50,000 - $80,000, salary will be commensurate with experience and performance. Additional benefits include profit sharing, 401(k), health & dental insurance, paid holidays and personal time, as well as opportunities for professional development.

Drafter Level II, Architectural

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary of essential job functions: Revise structural drawings and coordinate information with architectural sheets. Redline and revise zoning reports and as-built drawings before they are given to a senior drafter or project manager for review. Prepare an accurate set of construction documents for a medium-to-large sized project under the supervision of the Senior Drafter. Coordinate structural and architectural drawings. Respond to comments from municipalities during permit reviews. Supervise and train Drafter Assistant and Drafter Level 1 as necessary. Proficient in AutoCAD. Perform all tasks within time allotted. Maintains productivity rate of at least 80%.

SCHEDULE

Position is full time. Hours are 8-5 Monday through Friday.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates Degree
  • Proficient in AutoCAD - version 2004 preferred
  • Experienced in Word, and Excel

Drafter Assistant

JOB DESCRIPTION

The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in AutoCAD and a background in architecture, with experience creating construction documents or permit documents. The candidate will have a personal interest in residential architecture, as well as appropriate interpersonal skills and professional demeanor. In addition to drafting, the position entails measuring existing conditions, hand rendering drawings, and acting as architect's assistant doing any work necessary for the architect. Can be flexible about schedule.

**Educational reimbursement available up to 95%**

SCHEDULE

Will consider qualified candidates seeking a full or part time position. Hours are 8-5 Monday through Friday. Part time hours can be negotiated.

COMPENSATION

Pay is $9.00-11.50/Hour, depending on experience. Additional benefits include 401(k), health and dental insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid holidays, paid time off, as well as opportunities for professional development.
